A pharmacy
with roots.
Eason's pharmacy is a family-run business in Tamworth. The current pharmacist is the third generation of the family to work here since the business opened in Wilnecote in 1953.

Since 1953
The Eason legacy.
Three generations, one high street, and a family that never stopped caring for the people of Tamworth.

The founder
Harry Eason, photographed in the dispensary in the 1980s. He was still hand-mixing ointments and measuring tonics after five decades on Wilnecote High Street.

A local newspaper marked Harry's golden milestone in 1990 - 50 years of continuous pharmacy service in Tamworth, from wartime rationing to the NHS era.
Our story
Over 70 years of family pharmacy care.
This pharmacy has a unique history. Easons opened on Wilnecote High Street in 1953, founded by Harry Eason, a Derbyshire schoolboy who had cycled to night school to qualify as a chemist.
Over the decades the shop has stayed on the same street, run by the same family. From pigeon tonics and hand-mixed ointments to a 24 hour prescription locker and a full prescribing clinic, the tools have changed. The values have not.
Today the pharmacy is in the hands of the third generation. Kieran Eason, Harry's grandson, is honoured to continue the legacy his grandfather started, with the same goal the family has always had: trusted, personal care for the people of Tamworth.
Easons
over the years…

…here for you always.
Three generations, one family.
From an apprentice on Wilnecote High Street to a family name across Tamworth - here's how the Easons story unfolded. (Copy to be finalised by the family.)
1940s
An apprentice under Mr Perkin
Harry Eason began his career as an apprentice pharmacist in Tamworth, learning the craft under Mr Perkin.
1953
Harry opens in Wilnecote
Harry opened his first pharmacy on Wilnecote High Street, the branch that still carries the family name today.
1960s
Taking over Mr Perkin's shop
Harry took over Mr Perkin's pharmacy and opened a further branch in Glascote - three Eason pharmacies serving Tamworth in total.
1980s
The second generation
Harry's sons Stuart and Vincent each took the reins of a branch. The third pharmacy was later sold.
2000s
The third generation
Kieran took over from his father Stuart. His cousin Andrew took over from his father Vincent.
Today
One family, two branches
Kieran now runs both Wilnecote and Glascote as Easons Pharmacy - keeping the family's care for Tamworth going into a third generation.
